You Are Destined for Greatness
I am destined for Greatness.
Ever since I was a child, I always felt it in my soul. There was something special about me. I know, (trust me) it sounds trite. However, I felt it in my heart of hearts I am destined to do great things.
I recall sharing this little secret with friends during intimate conversations; they looked at me in such a way that I was crazy. So I began to keep this little secret locked away in my heart, never saying it out loud again; until recently.
My definition of greatness has changed and morphed over the years. My greatness is a collection of my experiences. ALL of them. The good, the bad, the ugly, the questionable. These experiences shaped me. I realize my greatness is living my truth, my desire to empower, my perseverance to grow, and learn.
Here is one of them:
When I began ultrarunning, I felt like an outsider; trail shoes I bought at the REI garage sale, uncomfortable hydration vest (because I did not know any better), and off-color.
I did not know anyone who ran ultras. I did not know anyone who knew what an ultra marathon was.
I wanted to find women who looked like me, brown. I searched for badass Mujeres I could learn from, grow with, and adventure. I wanted to be a part of a community I did not find one. On my own, just as I have always done - I went straight to blogs, forums, podcasts, books, asked questions anonymously, and trained alone.
I continued to search the internet for an opportunity to connect with someone, anyone! Until I finally found a way in.
Ultrarunning has taught me unspeakable joy, to look inward, to be vulnerable, empowered, growth, gratitude, grit, and healing. It has brought opportunity and exploration.
This opportunity to coach is so special to me because you are allowing me into a vulnerable place so together we can define your greatness.
So, why do I coach? I coach because you should not have to perform an extensive search to find women who look like you to feel comfortable in the outdoor space.
You want to be a part of a community, but you are scared. Mujer, I welcome you with open arms regardless of your experience, color, shape.
Empowered women, empower women; I want to be a resource so you can grow, learn, play, and adventure. I want to be your accountability partner, cheerleader, motivator, coach. I want to prepare you for your ultra because You too! Are destined for Greatness.
Will you take a step forward? Take my hand as we together build a community of trail Cabronas and Badass Mujeres!
Stay connected, follow me on social and let's get our feet dirty!
Happy Trails!

Quote of the week:
"We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” ~ E.E. Cummings
